LINCOLN’S INN

Lincoln’s Inn Students Chamber, is a pioneer students’ chambers in the Faculty of Law, Lagos State University.

The Chamber, or the Inn as it is famously referred is a brain child of members of the faculty who had found the need to create a student’s chamber approached differently. The Inn is majorly a mirror of the practical structure of a law firm in the real legal practice, and is designed to prepare its members for their eventual respective legal careers.
The Inn is overseen by a Head of Inn alongside an array of other impressive executives, who see to the smooth running and continuance of the Inn. The members of the Inn who are also called Lincolnites cut across the various levels of study in the faculty, as we have Partners who are in their 5th year of study, Senior Associates who are in their 4th and 3rd years of study, and Junior Associates who are in their 2nd and 1st years of study.
The Inn’s trademark motto which Lincolnites pride themselves in, ‘Ad Astra Per Aspera’, which is interpreted ‘Through Hardship, To The Stars’ defines the cornerstone of the Inn. At Lincoln’s Inn, our primal goal is setting our associates on the path to the stars, forging them in the way on the Inn, that inevitably they burn brighter than any other when they reach the stars.
This goal is notable from our endless and tireless pursuit of academic excellence for our associates, our unique approach and style to grooming some of the best of advocates the faculty of law has ever seen, and our enlightening Chamber Meetings, School of Advocacy, Advocacy Contests & Summits amongst others where we can guide associates early on and seamlessly so through the unique LASULAWS experience and beyond.
The Inn is even more celebrated when the progress of her alumni is considered. Having been members of the Inn as undergraduates, it had become easier to face the practical application of the legal profession, which is why we have a pool of successful and fine lawyers who continue to attest to the importance and benefits of belonging to a student chamber like Lincoln’s Inn Students Chamber.
